A LONG STRANGE TRIP…

Shortly after relocating to the Arizona east valley in 1993, I found myself single and needing to fulfil a “Mom Dad” role for my two small boys. Back then I was an enterprise software developer. Ever heard of MediSoft, PrimeNet, GlobalCrossing, GoDaddy?
I was involved, to a significant degree, with the growth phases of each of those companies. Fortunately for me, these careers afforded me the ability to “be there” for my boys. Even though working through the Dot-Bomb era felt like a soul sucking endeavor; It kept the roof up and the lights on.

By 2011, with my children out of the nest, the opportunity to do something other than being a “code monkey” presented itself in the form of the Arizona School of Massage Therapy. I could become a Massage Therapist AND be a veteran enterprise level internet application developer? Obviously, my inner Hemingway, couldn’t resist.

Because I’m a nerd, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and all possible coveted honors that were available. My desire: Be the best massage therapist.

In 2012, my partner and I created Vivid Soul Bodywork, LLC. We operated a beautiful 2 studio business near downtown Gilbert, AZ.
Over the next 8 years, nothing but 5-star reviews would be garnered, often calling out my particular massage by name.

…On the surface, business was looking great.

Unfortunately, declining health in my mother, a pandemic and a failed marriage saw the end of Vivid Soul Bodywork in late 2020.

It is here that I am compelled to thank those clients who reached out, and indicated that no matter what happens…I am not allowed to stop giving my massage. Being valued was a life raft: Thank you.

And so here I am today. Veteran massage therapist and software developer practicing out of my home studio in order to provide a safe, peaceful and loving environment for my mother as she prepares to one day sooner than later, make her maiden space voyage.

I am often asked if I still do programming? And would I ever do it again?

Should you schedule with me, you will notice my scheduling interface is unique. That is actually my proprietary scheduling system. It is an online system that allows businesses to retain customers on their web site during the scheduling.

So often, the scheduling service is handed off to an expensive 3rd party provider. Not only is your client no longer on your web site. It is very possible they now have access to a directory of other service providers, from which they could easily “jump ship” from scheduling with your business, to a competitor.

Do you have a business that sells products or services that must be provided by a professional resource at a predetermined time and location?
